I am one of those weird people who finds inner motivation to follow through on working out allllll by my lonesome. I never needed a workout buddy, someone to keep me accountable, or convince me that I needed to prioritize exercise. I have done so for as long as I can remember.
I don’t share this to brag… I share this to say that even this flying solo, self-motivated, fitness enthusiast has found that fitness in community is SUPERIOR to trying to go it alone… even if you have the self-discipline to follow through.
The idea of finding a gym buddy or someone who worked out the same way I did always seemed more value than it was worth… and in today’s society, forget trying to coordinate schedules! BUT, about a year and a half ago, I decided to explore what it would be like to join a team of women that were all passionate about prioritizing fitness and pushing themselves to reach new levels.
I AM AMAZED at the level of transformation I have experienced, not only in my body, but mentally as well! While I had always had the follow through to work out, my quality of workout has improved immensely! I find myself seeking new ways to challenge myself and being more holistically fit. I am more focused on the right mindset of being healthy, strong, and empowered… instead of burning calories or striving for the “perfect” body. And now, instead just doing what I thought was best for my body, I am pursuing workouts that truly are! No more guess work, increased intensity, proper mindset, constant encouragement and support, feeling like I’m a part of something, and not like I’m constantly coming up short.
Working out was always just for me [annnnnd my husband ;)]… but now it is about encouraging and inspiring others. And, let’s be honest, the majority of people need that extra measure of positive peer pressure and accountability to get exercise in the books and healthy meals and snacks on the menu!
