One things I have repeatedly been posting on my all social media sites, in relation to this series, has been that we are allowed to love ourselves. And this notion is not just something I pulled out of nowhere… or something that I think sounds good… it originates from an ancient book that so many people regard with high esteem… the Bible.
There is great deep wisdom in this book… something that even non-Christians will admit! But I take the Word of God very seriously. So when He says to love others as you love yourself… that must mean that I am supposed to love myself!
I am pumped to have my sister in Christ and teammate from Team INSPIRE, Tramaine Jackson share some truth with you all today! Her faith has been inspiring to me, as it genuinely bursts forth throughout all her posts and lifestyle. Show her some love and check out her sites as well!
Hi! My name is Tramaine and I am thrilled to work with Jillian on her “Be Your Own Valentine” series!
I believe that wellness involves the complete person: mind, body, and spirit. For me, the spiritual aspect is the most important. When the spirit is well, the mind and body will line up and fall into place. Since I am a Christian, I base this belief on scripture which states,
“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health,
just as your soul prospers.”
III John 1:2 (NKJV)
God wants our whole being to prosper in health and wellness, but our priority should be our relationship with Him.
I used to view fitness and physical health completely separate from other aspects of my life. I couldn’t understand why I never reached the fitness goals I set for myself. In 2012, my husband and I decided to do the Daniel Fast together. This included us following the eating plan described for the fast, as well as, spending more time in prayer and study of God’s Word. I was about three weeks into the couch to 5k running program when we began the fast and I immediately saw results in that part of my life. Once I began to focus on God and spent more time with Him, other things fell into place. I had been struggling with my running, but as I delved deeper into the Word, I was able to apply scripture to my fitness world. I soon became lighter, stronger, and faster, and literally felt like I was soaring like an eagle while running. I was amazed at the changes that occurred in my whole being.
The Word of God is powerful enough to affect every aspect of your life, if you will allow Him to have free reign. Don’t think that God isn’t concerned about the little things in your life. Turn it all over to Him and watch how you prosper in every way!
