Theme Thursday: Adaptogens

I don’t know about you, but I see so much stress in this world. Some stress we bring on ourselves (if we are honest) and some stressors come out of nowhere and blindside side us. In today’s society, it is not really a matter if you will or will not face stress, it is how much stress and how severe?

Stress is an interesting concept. The same stressful event can produce a wide range of stress reactions in different people. There are a whole slew of factors that impact our reaction to stressful events. For example: experiencing another recent stressor, amount of sleep, experiencing something similar in the past, trauma history, proximity to the stressor, personality, faith/spirituality, etc.

I am going to share with you a way to prepare yourself to give yourself a strong foundation for managing stress. Stress can keep us from functioning optimally in our many life roles. It can lead to physical illness or ailment, mess with our hormones, metabolism, and sleep. I do not think I need to do much convincing to get you on board with preparing yourself as best as possible to deal with stress!
